Dr. Thompson is a Primary Care Physician and Medical Director at the Afya Center for Health Equity. She completed Internal Medicine training at Highland Hospital in Oakland, served as Chief Resident, and is trained in Preventive and Lifestyle Medicine with certification as a Hypertension Specialist.

She founded a Specialty Blood Pressure Clinic dedicated to improving hypertension control for Black patients in the East Bay. Dr. Thompson is a leader in Equity, Inclusion, and Diversity at The Permanente Medical Group, focusing on graduate training, pipeline programs, and advocating for education on bias, cultural humility, and anti-racism.
