Jyesha Wren is a midwife and mother dedicated to innovating community-driven, evidence-based care for health equity and justice. She is the founding director of BelovedBirth Black Centering at Alameda Health System and leads the Beloved Birth Collective, a grassroots initiative supporting Black perinatal care. Through collaboration with Alameda Health System and Alameda County Public Health, she works to eliminate racism-based disparities in Black birth experiences.
With a background in sociology and a master’s in nurse midwifery from UCSF, Jyesha has provided full-scope midwifery care at Alameda Health System since 2015, serving families in Oakland.
